The Victoria Beckham Boutique
The Victoria Beckham Retail Store, located on Dover Street in London's Mayfair district, stands as a remarkable example of modern retail architecture. Designed by Farshid Moussavi, an Iranian-born architect, the boutique reflects a minimalist and refined aesthetic. Moussavi, along with Victoria Beckham, meticulously planned every aspect of the store, prioritizing both functionality and visual appeal.

The boutique spans three floors and features a distinctive lack of display windows, offering passersby a direct view into the interior. The space resembles an art gallery more than a traditional retail store, with smooth concrete surfaces, reflective elements, and American walnut seating. The most striking feature is the coffered ceiling on the first floor, crafted from Rohoznik White Cement by B&T Bau + Technologie GmbH, a company based in Raubling, Bavaria.
The ceiling's lightweight design was a critical consideration due to the structural limitations of the existing building. B&T Bau + Technologie GmbH utilized CEton, a material combining an aluminum honeycomb core, textile fibers, and a thin layer of concrete, to create the coffered ceiling. The use of Rohoznik White Cement allowed for the addition of green and black pigments, achieving a harmonious blend with the boutique's bottle-green glass elements. Despite the constraints of maintaining a load below 30 kilograms per square meter, the innovative construction achieved an even lighter weight of just 24 kilograms per square meter.
The store officially opened in 2014, drawing significant public interest. It offers a range of Victoria Beckham's clothing, handbags, and sunglasses, all displayed in an environment that seamlessly blends art and fashion. This project demonstrates the versatility and aesthetic potential of white cement in modern design.
