Heritage from last century
It comprises eight identical blocks, each 550 meters long and six stories high. The buildings, designed to accommodate 20,000 guests, were never fully finished, or used as planned due to the onset of World War II. Now the site is a set of high-end apartments and other facilities. One notable project is the conversion of Block II into luxury living spaces, undertaken by a North German real estate firm. The renovations emphasize preserving the original architectural character while updating interiors to modern standards. A key feature of these new spaces is the use of a white cement screed floor, crafted with Rohoznik White Cement CEM I 52,5 N. This high-grade cement, known for its low iron-oxide content, is ideal for producing brilliant white and richly colored surfaces.

Estricharbeiten Gunnar Ewend, a contractor from Stralsund, is responsible for installing the white cement screed, ensuring a flawless finish with the use of power trowels. The flooring integrates underfloor heating, adding to the comfort and appeal of the apartments. In secondary areas, such as storerooms and stairwells, grey cement screed made with low-chromate CEM I 42,5 N. The Prora project not only revitalizes a historical structure but also introduces modern amenities and high-quality finishes, making it a highly sought-after property. The choice of Rohoznik White Cement underscores a commitment to excellence, providing both aesthetic appeal and durability.
